Treatment

Production Team:
Sophie Bush
Georgina Skelton
Hayley Tranfield

I am going to design and make a front cover, contents and double page spread of a music magazine of my choice using Photoshop and Quark.
As it will be a magazine with a niche genre of electro music it will have a target audience of male and female’s aged 17-25, generally students who are interested on electro/rave music and house parties.

My front cover image I will have Georgina Skelton as an electro artist. I will paint her face a silvery colour giving her a robotic techno look with a lightning bolt on her face, my inspiration being David Bowie. I want my front cover image to be quite dark so the issue looks serious and unique to set it apart from any other magazine.
However, for my double page spread I am going to take a more colourful approach showing a more fun and bright approach to electro music and more importantly to my artist. My main image will be of my artist screaming with her hands on her ears, this is to show the loudness and intensity which goes into her music but the bright colours connotate that it’s still all good fun. I will have my image cut out on a black and white background so that the bright, neon colours really stand out. I will also have some little photos of my artist, some of which she is laughing others where she is looking more sincere.
For my contents I will use a couple of pictures of my main artist as it is the main issue in the magazine, as well as taking some more photos of other electro features including music decks.
The layout of my contents will be my main picture positioned slightly to one side with other magazine features down the edge. I will have images of other bands featured in the magazine and the colour scheme of my front cover will be a dark purple and grey background for the techno side and neon writing for the glow.
My double page spread will consist of a main image, along with three columns of writing with other smaller images. My writing will be plain however I will use pull quotes in neon colours to make them stand out and a bright title wound around my image.

Health and safety issues:

If I were to use a high angled shot I would make sure someone was holding me whilst I was stood one a chair.
